As a customer of Rowan Tree Designs, I may hold some information about you (your name, email address, and in some cases, your postal address, telephone number and measurements). This is a short note setting out everything you might wish to know about how I collect, use and store this information. IMPORTANT NOTE: When I talk about “information”, I am only referring to your contact details. I never have access to your financial information when you make payments using PayPal, WorldPay (for payments made in my workroom) or bank transfer. All sensitive financial information is held securely by the processing companies, and they never share this with me, or anyone else.

How I collect information

Whenever you order from me, place a commission or bring me an alteration, either directly or through my online shop, you give me sufficient information about you to enable me to process the order.

Who has access to that information

In a nutshell, just me! As the sole person working for Rowan Tree Designs, I am the only one who ever has access to your information, and I never, ever, ever pass this on to anyone else.

I have never got round to having a mailing list, and that’s not likely to change, so you have no need to worry about me suddenly bombarding you with unwanted emails.

How I use your information

I use the information you give me at the time of ordering to fulfil your online order, or make your commission. I will only use the contact details you give me to get in touch about an active order/commission.

How I store information

I keep an electronic spreadsheet of all customers and those who are on the commissions waiting list. This is held on my password-protected laptop. I carry it with me at times. I also keep some information in my workroom, which is stored in a locked filing cabinet.

I keep this spreadsheet for business administration, accounting and tax purposes (I need to keep all sales records for at least 6 years).

Cookies

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. These help us analyse data about web traffic and improve our website by tailoring it to customers needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and the data is held and removed by third party providers. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the information you choose to share with us.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies but you can usually change your browser settings to decline them if you prefer. This may affect the performance of some websites (including this one).

Your rights

You can ask me at any time what information I hold about you, and I will give you full details free of charge. You also have the right to ask that your details be deleted, amended or transferred. If you ever change your mind about what information, if any, you want me to hold on your behalf, just contact me.
